When will the site implement a 'stay logged in' protocol? I asked this on another thread but I can't seem to find it (so I don't know if MY question was addressed)?

It has been discussed in other threads, and that option is being worked on. Not sure when it will appear, though.

Thanks for the reply. I just do not understand why 'they' can't just do it?

They have an awful lot on their plate--stuff that's a lot more important, even though I'm looking forward to that feature.

Any update on this? This basically prevents me from using the website as each time I want to rate a movie I have to re-login and then search again which is quite cumbersome…

I believe the system currently keeps you logged in for maybe 10-14 days, but not sure exactly. So I don't think you should have to log in each time you visit the site if you set your browser to accept cookies/tokens.

I watch movie every now and then (let's say once a week) and each time I navigate to IMDb I'm logged in and each time on TMDb I have to log in... I don't clean cookies…

I never have to log back in to TMDb, since I never get logged out (except times I periodically manually clear browsing data).

Well gen you must be special. Because every 2 weeks TMDB logs me out & I have to log back in. I have even been in the middle of posting & it logged me out. I just think it's ridiculous that they just can't 'make it so'?

I possibly clear my browsing data and cookies less than every couple weeks, so perhaps never experience getting logged out of TMDb for that reason. (After any time I clear browsing data and cookies, I need to sign back in.) I do clear things (plus change passwords) quite frequently, since my computer got an intrusion in mid 2016, at which time my credit card # was stolen.

facepalm

so basically you sing-out yourself, moot case...

You are undoubtedly clearing your data/cookies about every two weeks or slightly more often. That's why you think you are never automatically logged out. If you were to wait more than two weeks between logins/cleanings, I think you'd see that the system has automatically logged you out. There are no exceptions. You currently apparently just don't wait long enough between logins/cleanings to see that happen.

I'm sure you're right, PT.
