For now (and this by no means will be anywhere near complete, or necessarily very satisfying) you may like trying clicking on the presented Keywords on the TMDb overview page that's for a particular movie you enjoy, as that'll take you to screens of many other films that share something whatever extent (if only vaguely) in common.

well, that kind of works thanks =) not nearly enough titles has a "personal curated" list, but should do till the list work that travis mention is done :)
Personal list searching is high on my to do list. Should be done soonish.
Is this in reference to being able to search a list other than favorites and watchlist? Because I am in dire need of the ability to search my list I created and update an item. Which by they way is a nice simple way to handle the list and give the user a place for their own data! If I had the ability to search and an app that integrated/allowed editing with my lists I'd be one happy camper. And how is this coming if it is related?
Hi @DragonPhantom The original post was about being to search all of the public lists that have been created. Which has not been completed but still on my radar.
It sounds like you're talking about searching the items in your list, right? I actually have some more list features planned and can definitely think about adding that option. I have created a new ticket for me to track this feature here.

Lists has been mentioned in these forums as the alternative to non-sequel movie collections, and it might be that powerful under the hood, but it doesn't come through on the website. Is this movie on one of my lists? Which one? Don't know. There's no good UI around it.
A very crude way to search within one list is to edit a list, search on page for a unique key word in the footer of the page using the browser's search functionality (like "basics", and wait for the full list to load), and then search again on the page for the item/movie you're looking for.
I will throw a party when search functionality is built-in.
Also, noticed that the "Items on List Count" continues to increment as items are added, but "Average Rating" is stuck at 70%, "Total Runtime" at 1251H 35M, and "Total Revenue" at $206.6B.
I'd love to contribute to this awesome site.

What type lists are you seeking?
I don't believe that there is any way, that I'm aware of. But perhaps there may be some exceptions, depending on what you're looking for.

Hi Travis, is the personal list searching feature done? I don't seem to be able to find any way to search personal lists.

@travisbell Anything I can do? Can you throw me a developer account?
Here's my personal movie list that I can't search or filter. https://www.themoviedb.org/list/7081593
