I'm an ex-IMDber. One of the ways that I was able to find various information (even on movies/TV shows that I hadn't even thought of) was by being able to see other posters' posting history. I think that was one of the features that made IMDb so successful, because it made it easier to follow different commentary on various movies/tv shows.
For example, lets say I've decided to read a poster's discussion topics. I click on their posting history and see they have discussed a movie that Bette Davis was in. Then it leads me to that page where I can write about that particular film.
It was an efficient way to navigate across imdb. I think it's fine that tmdb has a board that links to the lastest posts. It's just that having only that is kinda...clunky. Interesting topics can easily got lost in the shuffle. It would be hard for me to remember exactly what someone else may have posted. But if I remembered their name (or boards they frequent) and decided to find out what they've written, it would be easier to locate it on their specific posting history.

This feature is in the works. Look near the end of the first post in this thread:

Well, then maybe it shouldn't be listed as being "in the works" in that post about new features. It seems a bit premature, and it makes things a bit confusing. It would be better if they added a section titled something like "Things we might consider in the future."

I think posting histories should be viewable by default, but we should have the option to make ours private.
