Captain Kirk: Shut up Spock, we're fighting over a woman!

Scotty: There's an old Earth saying, fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me. Chekov: I know this saying, it was invented in Russia.

Kirk: You're not exactly catching us at our best.

Spock: That much is certain.

One of the best bits of all the movies, I think.

In "Star Trek V: The Final Frontier," Kirk asks the question (a variation of one) many of us have been asking almost our whole life…

Kirk: “What does God need with a Starship?" (I’d want to add--among other things--cathedrals, private jets, money, jewels, private islands, air conditioned dog houses…?)

"The foolishness of my century had me apologising where no offense was given."

Great line Wonder an episode that the current head honchos at Secret Hideout should have watched before putting their drivel onto paper

Was just scanning some sites to see if I could find 'something-anything" attributed to other crew members. When it comes to being quoted it's as if the rest of the crew were mutes.

Anyway...

I found this one (It's from a clip of sword-fightinng-Sulu ('The Naked Time')...that I've already posted in the "Overacting" Thread.)

Sulu: Acting irrationally and wielding a sword, grabs Uhura: "I'll protect you, fair maiden!"

Uhura: "Sorry, neither"

(1) Nichols ad-libbed that line.

(2) There seemed to have been quite a discussion centering around her choice of words.

Zahra: Captain, it doesn't even look real.

I read this. I blush

Astonishing sometimes where the imagination goes when one reads something out-of-context.

Obviously you mean his toupee...

KIrk: "Obviously some connection."

Gillian: Don't tell me... You're from outer space!

Kirk: No, I'm from Iowa. I only work in outer space.

That movie has some gems.

Kirk: You're not exactly catching us at our best.

Spock: That much is certain.

For real, I think ST4 is one long favorite quote for me...

Gillian: Do you guys like Italian?

Kirk: Yes.

Spock: No.

Kirk: Yes.

Spock: No.

Kirk: I love Italian. And so do you.

Spock: Yes.

Well yes, but stuff like "You're not exactly catching us at our best" strikes me as especially funny given their battles with Klingons and Romulans and planet-destroying robot spaceships and giant amoebas etc. Poor Gillian has NO IDEA.

Shatner wore a toupee, not Captain Kirk.

Sure, and I make a similar argument on another board - Kaley has implants, not Penny - but Shatner's toupee could be why Kirk's hair "doesn't even look real."
