It's another Sooty Show question. In 2010 a 3 DVD set of 12 episodes from the 1960's was released, These were never aired and were made in the hopes of selling the concept of the show to the US.
Should these be added as their own TV series, or as DVD movies with the Video tag?

That's an excellent question.
I would probably prefer to see it as one video entry (not one entry for each disc). Any other opinions?

That is a good question indeed. I'd say i'm with lineker.but i also think that, because it is episodic on the dvd people might want to have per episode information. In which case Maybe a special tag/type for tv shows could be created.
I know i adder Some direct to video anime series (Refrain Blue) as movies and created a collection. But those three were released months apart on separate dvds. Not three in one.

I think you are referring to the Lost Episodes? I googled, but I have so many unanswered questions!
"Four classic episodes dating from the 1950’s to the 1970’s. remastered" (x)
"According to Richard, they were filmed between the 1950's and 1970's with the intention of selling the 'Sooty' concept in the USA but remained unaired when the producer who commsioned the series died suddenly." (x)
Do all twelve episodes belong to the same show? Are they all unaired episode? Who was the producer who died suddenly? Can they be associated with a US production company/network? Was the team behind those episodes the same team as the UK series?
I think it would probably be better to add them in the specials, unless we can find more info on the unaired american series.

I forgot about that option! It would work for me as well of course.

The DVD's themselves don't go into much information on this, but as far as i can make out , i think, Bill Walsh got Harry Corbett to create them to try and sell Sooty as a series, he had already tried promoting Harry Corbett's Sooty in the US by filming short segments for "The Mickey Mouse Club". There are eleven 8 minute colour episodes and one black and white one, most of which were cut down refilms of the BBC episodes, but are made by "Presbury's Film Productions" and not the BBC, so they are really not part of the original show.
Richard Cadell on the DVD states more than once that they've never aired before.
However digging around This thread on the missing episodes forum it would appear these films might be the ones which were hired out to be projected at childrens parties in the late 60's and early 70's.
Which complicates matters further.... Does this make them movies?

I don't think that would be enough to qualify as an official release. I'd still go with either a video entry for the full compilation or to add them as specials like Banana suggested.
