The Movie Database Support

After uploading an IMDb CSV Watchlist file, it only finds 3 of the 157 movies and marked the rest, "Couldn't find IMDB ID." This means of course that the IMDB ID has not yet been manually entered by a human as a new entry on TMDB. Isn't there a way to auto import these as starter entries with the whole of the collected info via CSV from IMDB rather than manually entering all one hundred and fifty-four?

Hi, I don't think that's possible unless you run a bot (but those operations should preferably be cleared with Travis first). And copying overviews from IMDb is not allowed (unless it's an official overview already in use on an official site). Can you list some example movies? There can be any number of reasons why a movie isn't in the database. The most likely is, of course, that it has not yet been added.

(And I'll be back in a couple of hours so don't expect an immediate reply.)

Thanks for the reply! I've been researching HBO released documentaries dating back as far as the mid 70s and compiling a comprehensive list on Letterboxd. I have been manually entering them into TMDB and then creating the Letterboxd entries from those. I just have a lot to go and was hoping for some code or a bot that could help me out. I plan to manually go through and update every film as necessary, but just looking to save hours of work. I understand about the overviews. Not concerned there and happy to work within TMDB guidelines. I sent Travis an email, so hoping to hear back when he's available. Cheers.

All good then. For such specific movies I would expect the reason to only be that they are missing. In my mind I was thinking about possible future movies and for those there can be a few other reasons.
