The Movie Database Support

I've been trying to change my default language from my mother-tongue (Danish) to English but it won't save the settings. I always use English for boards and forums as (for me) it makes it a lot easier to use.

Please send help :)

Hi,

I've just tried and it seems to work.

When you select Danish as Default Language, does the button "Reload page" apprears under the dropdown list?

I only have a "Save" button in the lower right corner. And just to be clear.. I'm trying to change it from Danish to English :)

Ok I see, you're doing it in the Profile section.

Go to the homepage, click on the globe between the "+" and the bell next to your username and chose English as your Default Language and another language for the Fallback Language field.

This works (for me):

Your Account --> Details --> Default Language (English in this case) --> 'Save' button.

That's it. Perhaps you have to reload a page to see the change. But is should work.

EDIT: ha ha, Cyclone beat me to it

hmm.. none of those options work for me. The Globe I hadn't seen but after trying it, I do get a "reload" button, but it does not seem to work. Even force reloading the page still keeps it in Danish.

Google Chrome btw.

Strange... I'm using Google Chrome too.

What Fallback Language do you use?

I've tried 3 options for fallback language (all with English as default).

1) English as fallback 2) Danish as fallback 3) None as fallback

Ok, try to chose completely different languages. Let's say : French as Default and German as Fallback.

Then, reload the page. Does it change the site language?

I use chrome too and the sphere thingy doesn't always work. worried But you can change the language manually (it won't change the default language though) https://www.themoviedb.org/?language=en-us

A few things:

  1. The globe selector seems to have a bug introduced sometime in the last few days. I'll get it fixed.
  2. I wonder if you have a corrupted session from the small window of bad sessions that were introduced last week. If you do, this can be proven by trying to logout. Can you logout?

The link works, thanks Banana. I'm not sure if it's a lasting solution though.

Travis: 1) Thanks for the heads up 2) I can log out, ye.

  1. The globe selector is fixed now, but given the problem you're describing I'm not convinced it will set your session language properly.
  2. Weird, I thought that would have been it. Now I'm confused... confused
