Hi, I'm just a regular user of tmdb. I've noticed that you've just setup ngnix server on the url tmdb.org Earlier, it was set to redirect here. However, now it doesnt seem to do so.
If it is part of your current downtime, then sorry for bothering
Thanks, John

Interesting, this should still be redirecting. I'll investigate. Thanks for the report.

I always assumed it's some partisan action redirection and not your official domain, why not use much simpler URL if you are in control of it? and why not fix security certificate which was the reason why I thought it's unofficial, since themoviedb.org has no problem with SSL cerificate, unlike tmdb.org which will not even open in Chrome unless you are advanced user and know what to do

I think I agree with Markoff here. Not on the certificate part but on the official domain part. I think branding a website by its URL is very important and a regular user like myself would type in tmdb.org and associate a brand to it rather than its expansion as themoviedb.org . However, the decision is left to you entirely

I don't think our lawyers would think moving the brand to be more officially "TMDb" is a good idea. Another larger company with one a letter difference might have an opinion about that

TIL imdb.org is actually other site of IMDb, that would make one letter difference then, but still at least unofficially it would be nice if site worked fine without security certificate warning
