Supporto The Movie Database

To Mr. Bell,

I was wondering if it would be possible to have just a Full Cast and Crew all in one place to click on instead of hunting and pecking to try and find the information one is looking for. For example the How to Get Away With Murder Board. I wanted to look up the FULL cast list to find an actress I recognized in last night's episode, but couldn't remember her name. I clicked on "Full Cast and Crew" only to see the main characters. That's not a full cast and crew. So I came here to inform the Powers that Be that there isn't a full cast and crew list only to be told to "do it [myself]." I'm not a technical person. I have never done that before, and apparently, I made a mess of that board according to a couple of people who now have to clean the board up.

Like I said, I'm not a technical person. I used IMDB to look info up, and join in discussions and that's what I wanted to do here. And what I really liked about IMDB was that whether it was a movie or television show, they had a full cast and crew list all in the same place. It was easy. One or two clicks and voila! Just scroll down to find who you're looking for no matter season, episode, or whatever.

Thank you.

Comparing IMDb vs. TMDb credit listings for that title:

   http://www.imdb.com/title/tt5563366/fullcredits#main

   https://www.themoviedb.org/tv/61056-how-to-get-away-with-murder/season/3/episode/12/cast?language=en-US

It does appear that IMDb's data is more complete in this case
(and, I'd guess, presumably also in many other cases).

You and I are not data-contributing volunteers.
Perhaps eventually a volunteer may add more data for that title,
but there's no way to know how soon that may happen.

I'd like to extend this issue, somehow.

Presumable as an example, there is a TV show with the seasonal crew member writer. I'd expect, all episodes of this season are written by this person. If I look at the details of one episode, it shows: "Written by: No writer has been added.". Instead of showing this information, it would be nice to see the writer entered on season level. If there is no write on any higher level, only then no information is available for the writer. So it is the vice-versa concept as of the initial poster to show information coming from a higher level, propagated down to a lower level (TV show -> season -> episode). Or to blend information from a higher level with the information on a lower level to show the completeness of information. The initial poster - as I understand - wants to see everything propagated up to a higher level.

Make sure to check out our Contribution Bible sections for TV crew, TV regular cast and guest stars. I'm sure Travis will consider making some tweaks to how the data is presented.

Thank you for pointing that out. I'm only talking about how to display the available data, considering the data is populated properly. 😁 In the example, the writer is actually the writer for all episodes. I've populated the writer on a season level. But if I look at the episode, I only see the above message. I have to scroll up to the regular crew members for this information. But in that case it would make sense to show this information also on a episode level.

I'm not sure you mean the same thing, but to me this seems to be a bug and/or just not implemented on the website, yet. I made 2 posts about this last May and last June:

Right. I haven't seen this issues. But they definitely describe what I'm referring to. Sorry, for wasting your time ...

Oh no, you pointing that out wasn't wasting my time! On the contrary, it's a reminder that this is still not implemented/fixed -> in fact, I'd like this to happen very much!

I guess it's just not very high priority for Travis at the moment, and I have to accept that. But that doesn't mean we can't wish for it to happen, every now and then ... wink

So, no worries ... snail
