The Movie Database Support

Would offering something similar be something tmdb would want to do? It seems very well placed to pinch the rejected user base.

Just a thought. Moderation headache might mean it's more trouble than it's worth of course

Excellent. I loved imdb's and I agree my favorite feature.

Any updates on IMDB stats since closing the boards?

I recall them saying the boards made up a tiny bit of their traffic when they offered justification for closing the boards, so I would guess it has not changed much. They said the cost of the boards wasn't covered by the traffic.

I think the real reason they closed them was that they had those PC rules on what people could say, and the snowflakes were driving the moderators nuts by complaining every time someone disagreed with their opinions.

Possibly true, but did the forum users also use the rest of the site? I know I try to visit IMDb as little as possible since The Great Forum Shut Down.

Given the amount of potty talk and illegal download spam I saw on the more popular boards, they weren't complaining enough.
