Hi people, new user here; tmdb looks pretty amazing :). I was hoping to correct the episode numbers of Firefly (2002 tv series), but that seems to be disallowed - perhaps I'm too new? The show has a definite plot arc that is followed in a certain order, starting with episode 1 "Serenity", incorrectly marked as 11 in the db, and many of the episodes are off by one, perhaps because of that. Is there a way to fix this so that people will be able to easily watch the series in order? The information seems to be otherwise correct. Thanks in advance!

We prefer to use air date order for television series, so Firefly is correct in terms of that - dvd or absolute order may be a possibility in th future to also display the intended order.

I'm with rdickert on this one. While I would definitely agree that the air date order should usually apply, Firefly is one of the rare exceptions where the episodes were aired out of order (and had 3 unaired episodes). Sadly this series was cancelled early, and in the latter stages of production. The correct order, as demonstrated by the blu-ray (and dvd) releases should be: Serenity (1), Serenity (2), The Train Job, Bushwacked, Shindig, Safe, Our Mrs. Reynolds, Jaynestown, Out of Gas, Ariel, War Stories, Trash (unaired), The Message (unaired), Heart of Gold (unaired), Objects in Space.

My original reply still stands - when we get dvd order it will be filled in, but the main order will be the aired order. If you need the dvd order for your media player, tvdb has it http://thetvdb.com/index.php?lid=7&order=aired&seasonid=15791&seriesid=78874&tab=season&order=dvd

Ok. So how would you like me to verify the DVD and Blu-ray order? I own them both. That's why I listed it the way I did, I copied it straight from the front inside of the cover.

Sorry, it looks like I didn't phrase that quite right; I can verify the dvd order myself, but we can't do much with it right now. We do not have the capability of entering a dvd order, right now we only have one way to order things and that's by airdate.

Ok. Understood. Then what should we do with unaired episodes? Would they qualify as special features or do they get listed with just a misc airdate since they were supposed to be part of the run?

They should be listed in the Specials section. At least, that how I handled it for Life as we know it - and that's also how we deal with unaired pilot, and an extra unaired episode that appears on special edition blu-rays for lots of anime. https://www.themoviedb.org/tv/4503-life-as-we-know-it/
Instead of the airdate, I filled in the DVD/blu-ray release date. But I don't know if we actually have a current stanze on that? Leave them blank, or use the DVD/blu-ray date.

Thanks for the discussion around this. I had no idea that this was a technical issue and had assumed it was simply an error (as will all new users, I suspect). I'm not sure I can point my media player at tvdb, so I may have to just edit my own metadata locally. Looking forward to when this can be addressed, but I really appreciate the thoughtful comments.
