Hello, i just wanted to correct some minor grammatical errors in a movie description but the text is locked and i can not edit it. Is this a wanted behaviour?

Moderators will lock a field to prevent vandalism; if you see something that needs to be changed, just click on the report button (it looks like an exclamation point) and tell us what needs to be changed.

Hi Rebecca, thank you for explaining. This seems to be new. I understand the problem but for people who want to help to improve the quality of the content this is kind of a show-stopper. Sometimes i find movie descriptions where the german grammar is quite horrable or some small things like wrong or missing punctuation. In the past i corrected this here in the database but now i need to beg for permission to do this. This is not a satisfying solution for someone who wants to help.

I can understand your frustration, but at the same time you have to see our perspective as well. If someone adds 50 spam links to overviews, a moderator has to clean that up (and sometimes users help as well of course). Overviews should only be locked if they are confirmed as good. That means it's a judgement call and sometimes mistakes are made. Just as with other locked data, we are happy to have users report incorrect information.
It's worth noting that I have been adding information for upcoming Sundance movies lately and so far I haven't locked one overview. I guess that's because I always hope some better overview will show up, usually after people start watching the movie. I'm much more likely to lock overviews for older movies at this time.

The interface has been changed since I posted that response. Now, you have to click on Overview in the top menu and you’ll find Report there.

Hi Rebecca. For this title https://www.themoviedb.org/tv/83677-zasada-przyjemnosci please either make the correction yourself or unlock the "Production Countries" field within "Production Information" as the list the is incorrect. I reported this probelm using the method you described above ( https://www.themoviedb.org/tv/83677-zasada-przyjemnosci/discuss/614b6e1eb04228004382d061 ), but a week has passed and no action has been taken by any of the TMDb MODs.
p.s. Additionally, and related to the issue above, please fix the duplicate issue for one of the companies involved in the produciton of the above TV Series "Zasada przyjemnosci", specifically there are 2 duplicate entries for this Russian company called "Star Media":
The first TMDb entry for Star Media has an incorrect "Ukraine" location ( https://www.themoviedb.org/company/104250/tv ) => this is a duplicate entry with an incorrect location (Star Media is actually headquartered in Moscow, Russia and is considered a Russian company, see details about it here https://www.themoviedb.org/tv/83677-zasada-przyjemnosci/discuss/614b6e1eb04228004382d061)
The second TMDb entry for Star Media has a correct "Russia" location ( https://www.themoviedb.org/company/16079/tv ) => this is the entry that should be kept, and the incorrect entry with a wrong "Ukraine" location ( https://www.themoviedb.org/company/104250/tv ) should be merged into this one
p.s. I think there is a third entry for Star Media (this one https://www.themoviedb.org/company/152512/tv ) that should also be merged into the correct one ( i.e., https://www.themoviedb.org/company/16079/tv )

Hello. Submitting a report is the correct way to inform content moderators of any issue because the report is automatically connected to the film/tv/person page. TMDb receives a high volume of content issue reports in a day, and there is a backlog, so it can take some time to get to your report and process it -- sometimes a few days, other times a week or more. All we ask is for patience, we are trying to get through the reports as fast as we can.
