ALL others Star Wars have this "new" Title format (even IMDB has updated), but:
Star Wars -> Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope - http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0076759/
Return of the Jedi -> Star Wars: Episode VI - Return of the Jedi - http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0086190/
Star Wars: The Force Awakens -> Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens - http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2488496/

Why would you update and original title? New title just becomes the alternative, you can't change something that is "original", right? Or am I thinking totally wrong.
Just because something is on IMDb, doesn't mean it should be the same here.

I wanted to change to the original titles back in 2013 when we only kept the new titles, but it was decided then by the admin that we should go with the new titles (or, perhaps more correctly: my request was denied). Since then new moderators have arrived and made other decisions (that agrees with how I wanted it to be when I first asked). However, since the changes do create a new situation it is time for the admin to make a final decision to settle this once and for all.

Who said change Original Title? NO... what need to change/update is Translated Title (English) only look at the mix of "old" and "new" titles here (it looks really bad): https://www.themoviedb.org/collection/10-star-wars-collection?language=en-US
the themoviedb way is to use the updated titles IF they have changed when new version / re-release come out in cinema / blu-ray
If / when YOU get api data YOU the info getter chose if YOU what to use Original Title OR Translated Title no one else the ONLY reason to keep the OLD titles is nostalgic... GET WITH THE TIMES PEOPLE

Well that makes 66% of my point:
now -> original titel:
Star Wars -> Star Wars
Return of the Jedi -> Star Wars: Episode VI - Return of the Jedi
Star Wars: The Force Awakens -> Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens
= change now!
then only 1 left:
Star Wars -> Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope
= need to change
if you don't believe me watch, ALL the intros on the Blu-ray versions, you will see.

Why don't get they are short names not original titel...
...and how do you explain: https://www.themoviedb.org/movie/1891-star-wars-episode-v-the-empire-strikes-back?language=en-US
The film was originally released in 1977 with the title "Star Wars". The subtitles Episode IV and A New Hope were only added to the opening crawl in subsequent re-releases.[8][22] Accounts differ as to when this designation was first added; some date the change at the theatrical re-release of April 10, 1981,[89] while others place it much earlier at the re-release in July 1978.[90] The retroactive addition of these subtitles was intended to bring the film into line with the introduction to its sequel, The Empire Strikes Back, which was released in 1980 bearing the designation "Episode V". It is uncertain if the introduction of an episodic naming convention was an indicator of Lucas's original intent, or if this was simply a later redraft of the narrative. According to some accounts, Lucas has claimed that he was discouraged by Twentieth Century Fox from using an episode number on a new film because it would confuse audiences. Gary Kurtz has stated that he and Lucas had originally considered using an episode number for Star Wars to emulate the chapter numbering used in the 1936 Flash Gordon installments, but they were uncertain whether they should designate it Episode III, IV or V. However, some of Lucas's early script drafts bear titles such as The Adventures of the Starkiller (Episode One): "The Star Wars" or "Saga One".[91][92] The Revised Fourth Draft of the script dated January 1975 acquired the subtitle "Episode IV - A New Hope - from the Journal of the Whills" when published in the 1979 book The Art of Star Wars.[93]
