EDIT: Sheesh! I just saw that there's supposed to be a new version 3.8.7 so the original post is probably worthless. I updated to the latest version manually, and just tried again on both systems, but all that's coming through is 3.8.6. I'll report back as soon as I can get 3.8.7 to load.
ORIGINAL POST: I just wanted to give some specific info about the remaining problems with the scraper on Kodi. I'm using Kodi 15.2 and just updated The Movie Database scraper to version 3.8.6 today. I removed all movie sources, cleaned the database, and then reloaded all movies using the TMDB scraper. I performed identical steps on a Xubuntu 15.10 x64 Kodi program, and Windows 7 Professional x64 Kodi program.
Out of a little over 300 movies 29 weren't added to the movie library, and I've included the list of missing movies below. These movies have always been added correctly before. In all cases I could go to Videos->Files, right click on the movie, click "Movie Information" on the pop-up menu, and the movie would be recognized and I was allowed to add it. However, most of the movie information was missing. The only information gleaned was a screen shot, the quality (i.e. SD or HD), audio codec (i.e. AVC1), audio encoding (i.e. Dolby Digital 5.1), aspect ratio, Runtime, and movie path. This information was correct, however all other information was missing including the title, actors, plot, etc.
After adding the missing movies this way I would just have empty spaces in the Movie list, and when you scrolled over them the screen shot (not the DVD cover picture) would appear. Clicking on the space would play the movie correctly. The problems were identical on both Xubuntu and Windows 7. Following are the titles of the movies that were missed:
Airplane 2 The Sequel, Bananas, Blazing Saddles, Cheech and Chong Still Smokin, Dark Star, Deal of the Century, Fast Times at Ridgemont High, History of the World Part 1, It Came From Outer Space, Modern Problems, Phantom of the Paradise, Pink Floyd The Wall, Project Moonbase, Road to Bali, Silent Running, Sleeper, Soylent Green, Star Trek II The Wrath of Khan, Swamp Thing, The Andromeda Strain, The Leech Woman, The Lost World (1960), The Man with Two Brains, The Omega Man (1971), The Time Machine (1960), The War of the Worlds (1953), Trading Places, Young Frankenstein, Zelig
I hope this info helps debug the remaining problems. I'm an embedded systems engineer and am available to provide any information or help in debugging in any way I can. Just let me know what you need me to do.

I still haven't been able to get the 3.8.7 update, so I took a look at the fix for the "2007" problem which is apparently being put into the update. I couldn't see how it could relate to the problem I'm having so I changed my tmdb.xml file manually to incorporate it (changing the index in the 3 GetSearchResults url cache statements from 1 to 2) but as I expected it didn't have any affect. Unless there are other changes to 3.8.7 it looks like it won't fix the problem I described. I just wanted to give everyone a heads up.

Added a few films today and while they were added to the library with everything one would expect, the years are wrong. Just a heads up to those that are working on a fix.

Some problems here, too. Scraping did work last night, but a few entries are wrong, eg "Original Title" and "Year". For Legend of Zorro 2005 the original title is Lara Croft/2001 or for Bad Boys 2 some weird french movie title. Guess this is a scraper problem, not one with the database, because all other details seem to be right. Greetings!
