Hey everybody,
I would really like to see better runtimes for tvshows. The main problem where it fails are specials and changes of season runtime. So the quickest patch would be to have a runtime on each episode and have a fallback to the tvshow runtime. But I think it would be even better to also have a runtime on the season. So it can check episode runtime -> empty? -> take season runtime -> empty? -> take tvshow runtime. This will vastly improve the data and be a selling point for tmdb on mediacenters and scrobble sites.
Cheers

Hi Razze,
I actually have a ticket for per episode runtimes here. I would think defaulting this value if it hasn't been set makes sense.

Also wondering if you use the real duration time of the episode, of the time of the episode + commercial breaks..
Everytime i check a show it has the "real" runtime, but for some shows i noticed that people (not mods) have edited to, for example 60 minutes, if the scheduled airtime is an hour, even though the episode is only 42-45 minutes long. I vote for the "real" runtime. :-P

I agree with both Razze and Marr. Tv shows runtime should be more accurate and absolutely refer to actual duration (without commercial breaks, that can vary every time).

Also episodes from Special Season such as (The Walkind Dead, Sherlock,..) they only last a few minutes but right now they registered as full 45 minutes episodes.
