Hi,
Thanks for the great API.
Would it be possible to add the air time to the episode air_date in ISO8601 (so you can include the timezone)? Or is that already possible? Would love to see that feature ! :)
Greets,
Mark

When you say air time, are you looking for the specific time it airs on the original channel? If so, we don't currently have that data as part of TMDb. We do keep original air date's around but there is no time associated with those right now. We've never been that interested in the more schedule based data.
Cheers.

Is that a firm decision? thetvdb and tvrage both have this. This piece of information is a big part of any service based on tv shows.

It's pretty firm for now at least. We showcase all kinds of TV here without ever needing the time it airs. Too many countries and schedule changes make this a near impossible piece of data for us to keep accurate.

I would like to touch on this too. It seems like a waste not to have. You even announce "airing" episodes on the entries and offer the info in the API so why not make that exact with a time (of the first broadcast)?
I also don't see any rules regarding the network info. For most shows that is just one and otherwise it would change at the season level. There are however entries which have the networks of rebroadcasts in different countries. One could argue since you want to keep the data international that usage of it is not wrong?

This would be useful for me also.

Travis, could you confirm me that the episode air date given when calling http://api.themoviedb.org/3/tv/id/season/season_number/episode/episode_number is in UTC format ? Thanks !

Yes, everything is returned in UTC.
Cheers.

Reviving this old thread....
Is this still something that TMDB is not interested in ? Air Times (UTC) would be extremely important to know. I'm doing a tv show tracker app and it seems most of the users would want to know when an episode airs and set local notifications for it, which I can't do at the moment.
I decided to get the data from tmdb instead of other providers because I liked the site/Api more, images are great, but this missing timestamp is a bummer. Any ideas ?

Totally agree with you @crocodileQ still not decide to use this api in my app due to poor rating system and air times issues

@azermann What rating system issues are you talking about?

Hi Travis, My main problem is due to few users using or voting for tv series or a movie from your api the results not seem correct. And my second problem is even i read some posts for popularity i don't understand how it works or can't figure out 10.160883 score is how good or bad

Re: ratings, I'm still not 100% clear on what you're saying about them. The data returned by the API is the same as on the website and I am not aware of any issues. Can you elaborate for me?
Re: popularity, there's no real good or bad popularity score. It's just an unbounded score that fluctuates over time based on certain criteria. I'm not sure if you've seen this document, but this might help you understand it a bit better: https://developers.themoviedb.org/3/getting-started/popularity

i've noticed that this thread is closed if so is the air time of episodes implemented or it's on planning list ?
kept wondering because this thread is 6 years old

Hi @idrissi_md, my statement from 2014 hasn't really changed. In fact, I would argue that scheduled TV data is even less relevant today since streaming is taking over the world.
My argument for saying this is the same, trying to track this by region, availability and provider is a difficult task that I don't think is worth the effort.

i was thinking only adding it for the first broadcast many apps are using your api including trakt if the air time is implemented i'm guessing we will have many users
