The Movie Database Support

Hi, i am working on an iPad app based on this great database and i am using lists for "now on cinema" and "top 10 cinema". for example her is the list for the movies that are "now" playing in german cinemas. http://www.themoviedb.org/list/52fa99b79251411d1b1c4977

i am using this list in my app. so it is necessary that the list id is always the same.

the list ist created via a script, so i do a lookup on google to fetch the movie titles and than the script searches themoviedb (Title and Year).

at the moment the script works like this.

  • one api call to fetch the list
  • multiple api calls to remove every item from the list (in my example 38)
  • multiple api calls to add the new movies.

so i think it would be great to have a function "clear list" and add multiple items.

best regards Alex

Hi Alex,

I've created a new ticket for this here. I'll consider it in the future. Thanks.

thanks Travis. regards Alex

Hey Alex,

I just pushed this method live, you can see the method documented here: http://docs.themoviedb.apiary.io/#post-%2F3%2Flist%2F%7Bid%7D%2Fclear

Cheers.

Hey Travis, thanks, just did a short test and it did not work, i have to take a deeper look if it is my code...

thanks Alex

did another test and i can't get this to work

https://api.themoviedb.org/3/list/my_list_id/clear?api_key=my_api_key&session_id=my_session_id

header {'Content-Type': 'application/json', 'Accept': 'application/json'}

data {"confirm": "true"}

i get a bad request

best regards Alex

Hi Alex,

I'm guessing you're seeing status code 29 (a 400 response). confirm=true should be a HTTP param, not a POST body.

https://api.themoviedb.org/3/list/{LIST_ID}/clear?api_key=my_api_key&session_id=my_session_id&confirm=true

Cheers.

Thanks Travis, it works like a charme ;-)
