Hi guys Im new here and I had made an entry for my fanedit edition of "Kill Bill The Whole Bloody Affair" a few months back. This is my own edit that I made in 2011. After I made the entry someone else came and added 2 other cover arts then the one I made which took me 2 days to render. somehow the cover that someone else uploaded has taken the place of my cover art. this bugs me and i cant seem to edit it back. This wouldnt be a big deal in most cases but the problem is there have been several kill bill fanedits made over the years and most of those edits have had their own custom cover made specifically for them. the cover that has taken the place of my cover is from a different edit. so this creates confusion as to who made the edit. it has the cover from qthegaijin edit but this is the ibleedspeed edit....yep thats me. so now not only do I not get my own cover in xbmc but everybody just thinks that this entry is for the "qthegaijin" edit. which was never entered here at tmdb. only my edit has been entered. Also note that this edit is far better then any others I have seen in terms of video quality and flawless editing. sorry for the long winded thread but since I took over 2 months of my life to create the edit I would really like to have my own cover art. . Can anyone tell me how to fix it or can a mod fix it for me?

Sorry, but fanedits are not supported. I deleted the entry.

Why on Earth would fanedit,s not be "supported" especially when it is simply a recreation of a copy of the film that actually exists...thats like saying independent films are not allowed. Or "superman II the richard donner cut" is not allowed. I thought this database was made for fans of movies. some films have had multiple editions released like bladerunner which has at least 3 different versions as well as a fanedit. maybe I am confused aboout what it is this database is supposed to be for but as far as i know TMDB is a database made for media center applications. Not allowing entries like "kill bill The whole bloody affair" (which is actually listed on IMDB) or directors cut,s is kind of a slap in the face to movie fans who use media center apps. fans like to see different editions of their favorite films which can include additional footage or alternate endings. and frankly it has always annoyed me that there are no directors cut entries available to be scraped. I personally have 3 different editions of kill bill. I have the usa theatrical release I have the japanese uncut editions and I have the fanedit. unfortunately tmdb does not know the difference and media center fans are left to manually fix the library entry in their media center.
I say this is a bad move but what do i know Im just a movie fan.

I couldn't find it on IMDB. Also, please note that all the popular fanedits of the Star Wars movies have been deleted in the past from here (long before I became a moderator).
To add a different cut of a movie you have to create a duplicate entry of the movie in question in the database. And duplicates are bad. In the future, perhaps it may become possible to add different cuts of the same movie to the database in a different way.

well you are right the imdb entry is no longer there. but it did exist for a brief period. now there is only imdb news on the release. strange. anyhow at least i already have the metadata for my copy. :)
