I've created quite a few fanart that are better than what is currently on TMDB that have failed the ratio check. Does the site not want fanart that are 1446 x 813 px for example? For my uses, I'd rather have the slightly larger fanart than resize it to 1280 x 720 just to get it to pass the ratio check.

There is written an minimum size of 1280 x 720 and the preferred resolution is the 1920 x 1080. So everything in between should be fine as well if it has the Aspect ratio of 16x9 (1.78:1). Clearly your picture (1446 x 813) hast that aspect ratio, so it should work????

No, it doesn't work.
1280 x 720, 1600 x 900, and 1920 x 1080 all work with an aspect ratio of 1.77778
1446 x 813 has the same effective aspect ratio, but is actually 1.77859 and does not work with TMDB. That's why I'm saying it is too strict. I don't know how many decimal places they require, but I think they should relax it so that these sizes can be uploaded.

Hey Bryan,
I round the calculation to 3 decimal places (1.778), so your 1.77859 will be rounding up to 1.779.
I'll add a second check if the final rounded value rounds to 1.78 (which 1446x813 does) and let those through. Here's the open ticket. Thanks.

The aspect ratio for TV shows needs to be tweaked, too. I'd like to upload a bunch of 4:3 episode images.

Travis, while at it, can you also add 14:9? Some series have been shot in 14:9, see e.g. http://forum.dvdfab.com/showthread.php?t=16373 or http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Active_Format_Description#Usage Midsomer Murders moved from 4:3 via 14:9 to 16:9.

Hey Karl,
You can upload 4:3 images to TV episodes now.
How popular are these 14:9 images? I'm just wondering if it's something worth considering.

I'm not sure how popular they are, after consulting http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/14:9 I think that it would be nice to add it if its just adding another valid aspect to a list, as it was used for broadcasts in the transition phase. Although I'm wondering why I've been seeing it on current german broadcasts when everything is shoot in 4:3 or 16:9 in the UK. Having 14:9 (1.556) without black bars matches nicely to 16:10 (1.6) computer displays so there is some benefit if the cost is low. (This is how I came to appreciate it) But as 14:9 is on its way out its likely not worth to spend much time on it.

Travis, I tried uploading some 4x3 ratio fanart images to Agatha Christie's Poirot two nights ago and the script failed. Are you still in the testing phase and giving permission to specific users? I got an email update from lighthouse about you marking the task as resolved, but my one test upload failed even after verifying its aspect ratio.
Edit: I'll link to the image after work (I still have about 10 hours left to go). The episode I was trying to upload an episode image for is here.

It's only for episode images, we don't support 4:3 anywhere else. If that's what you tried, can you link me the image and let me know the specific episode and I'll try to see what's up.
