Hello. I have an application that uses the API 2.1.
The application is for a realtek mediacenter, and it only support XML, so it can only use the API 2.1
Until when I can use API 2.1 , because the API 2.1 are deprecated?
Approximate date?

We haven't decided this quite yet. Whenever we do, we will provide > 120 days notice. My gut says a year from now 2.1 might not be in existence anymore...

Do you know the percentage of use of the API 2.1?
Why not support more use XML?
I would like to use the API 2.1 beyond one year. ;-)
Thanks.

Less than 50%.
There's nothing wrong with XML but some reasons why we only support JSON are:
There's no reason to support anything but JSON.
v3 has been public for 15 months and out of beta for 12. Give or take the minimum 6 more we'll provide you at a minimum, put quite simply, we expect you to be able to migrate and update within 18 months. This is more than reasonable.

50% is not bad, it's still a lot (maybe too much, I expect less).
The problem is not migrating, the problem is that the realtek mediacenters only support XML.
Thanks.

We announced the official EOL for 2.1 2 weeks ago in case you missed it. 2.1 will be shut down on September 15, 2013. Traffic on 2.1 is down to about 20% so it's getting smaller and smaller quite fast.
Thanks.

Thank you very much.
I received the email informing about it. I'm trying to port my app to the v3, but maybe it's possible.
