The Movie Database Support

HI. I suggest you add a new language for the brazilian users. They use portuguese as main language, but the titles of the movies are different from the ones used in Portugal. So if portuguese users, like me, select portuguese (pt) they want portuguese titles and descriptions and not brazilian.

Sorry for any grammar mistakes.

Best regards.

Thanks for the feedback. Many people in others countries hope for this.

I hope this gets implemented soon. Sorry fellow Portugal friends, but I'm sick of seeing wrong title names here.

Hello Travis, I would like to thank for the excellent work you have done, I have been watching these huge changes and their commitment to implement the new languages.

So thank you and wish you a great week.

I just came to thank you for your great work. God bless you.

Hi Ander33X,

You're welcome! I was going to post on here actually, just to let everyone else know that multiple languages with regions is now supported on the website (the API won't be too far behind).

Cheers!

BIG THANKS!

Just waiting for the API...

Thank you Travis!

Did you duplicate the "old" content to all regions?

For example: all pt (portiguese) content were copied to pt-PT (portuguese-Portugal) and pt-BR (portuguese-Brasil)? Or do we need to fill all the content again?

Hi Henrico,

pt was only converted to pt-PT since that was the assumption from day 1. I didn't feel like there was any point on duplicating data that was known to be incorrect in most cases.

I tried it in a movie that I had a lot of trouble... Die Hard 2 shows as "Assalto ao Aeroporto" in PT-PT , and "Duro de Matar 2" in PT-BR. Everything correct.

Fantastic!!

HI Travis,

It is a difficult choice indeed.

Since 'pt' was the only option to Brazilians (until now), many movies were filled with the 'pt-BR' content. I can't tell you witch one is the most frequent in 'pt' (pt-PT or pt-BR), but IMHO...

Start 'pt-BR' with the "old" (and eventually wrong) 'pt' content is much better than loose all content and start from scratch.

At least for me, It took a lot of time and effort

Anyhow... we are still happy e thankful for this long waited feature

Henrico, I would agree with you at first, but in this case has somebody TODAY updated the PT-BR version of the movie I quoted above?

I don't know how it got the PT-BR correct information, in this case.

As of this writing we've already had 620 movies edited in pt-BR. It won't take that long to fill it up, and this is still without API support which tends to increase activity (since users get the data in their favourite apps).

Wow. people are fast! Any ETA on the API? Just curiosity.

The API should be live by tomorrow.

Hi... I've seen that the API for individual querying is working ok for PT-BR

But can you also update search api?

--- WORKS -- https://api.themoviedb.org/3/movie/1573?api_key=##API_KEY##&language=pt-br

-- STILL NOT WORK -- https://api.themoviedb.org/3/search/movie?api_key=##API_KEY##&query=die+hard+2&language=pt-br

I will be making a post when everything is complete. It is not yet ;)
