A man walks from his office, off a cliff, finding himself at the sea where he catches a thought, then takes it back with him to the reality of his city.

In January 2003, eighty-three York College students eliminated all words from Sigmund Freud's Interpretation of Dreams and, as all words were cut out of his sentence, were pronounced. On June 1, 2003, artist Simon Morris threw the words out the window of a Renault Clio in Redbridge Road, Dorset. The action freed words from the structural unity of Freud's text, subjecting them to a random moment. Maurizio Cogliandro and Dallas Seitz documented the action when 333,960 words emerged from the car window. This 13-second short documents this.

As disco came to a slow death in the 1970’s, House Music rose from its ashes to create a new genre of American music. This film focuses on contemporary artists featuring the world’s best DJs and Producers as they describe what this genre of music means to them. From tales about the decline of vinyl to how they achieved fame, the interwoven connections show the sense of community present within House Music. Through visually stunning imagery shot around the world, intercut with historical footage and interviews, the filmmaker brings us into their personal stories and brings the music to life.

"This is the second film of the Anomalies Cycle. It is a hand Painted and manipulated film. I also used the technique of bleaching and batiking of the film emulsion. The footage was then step printed on a J-K Optical Printer. Although similar in style to The Flickering of the Minds Eye I began to experiment more with other colors and different textures such as dried leaves and flowers, hair, insect parts, and a variety of different types of inks and paints. The sound track for this film was preformed by NEGATIVLAND."

Produced by Dr. Lester F. Beck of the University of Oregon, this astonishing 40-minute motion picture is an unrehearsed, authentic clinical record, showing the inducement of an artificial neurosis by hypnotic suggestion in a young man and a young woman. Upon reawakening, the subjects, by means of dream analysis, ink blot and word association tests, gradually realize first the existence of a traumatic experience and then its content by slowly reconstructing the bogus events which caused it. Their reactions, discussion and self-analysis were spontaneous, unrehearsed and unpredictable: the result is a most unusual motion picture.

“Freud established that jokes were structurally akin to dreams in their use of condensation, displacement, representation by opposites, punning and ‘nonsense’. All of these strategies are much in evidence in (Land’s) marvelously duplicitous ON THE MARRIAGE BROKER JOKE… [...] so clever and original a filmmaker as to make most others – not to mention his critics – seem flat-footed by comparison. ON THE MARRIAGE BROKER JOKE harks back to Bunuel’s early work. Not only is it structured like a dream and filled with sexual imagery, but like Un Chien Andalou, it smacks of being an insider’s joke played upon the avant-garde. Where Bunuel used the insights of psychoanalysis to satirize Christianity, Land– with an almost equal perversity – reverses the process and uses Christianity to send up Freud.” – J. "Collective Unconsciousness: The Not Dead Yet Story" explores the annual Not Dead Yet festival that takes place in Toronto. This documentary dives into what makes the festival great and the impact it makes on the city's hardcore/punk scene. "Collective Unconsciousness: The Not Dead Yet Story" also features performances from bands that played in 2015, shot up close to give the viewer the feel that they are there. Features performances by S.H.I.T., V.C.R., Power Trip, Title Fight, Career Suicide and more alongside interviews with members of Dress Code, Title Fight, I.C.E. and more.

In this film, as in all my previous ones, there is a direct connection between inner urges and cinematic rendering. I tried to visualize my present aspiration to recover, through the various ways taught by one’s experience, the easiness, directness and ripeness proper to children’s relationships and affective life. This film is maybe a track of this path backwards. – A. L.

In hopes of unraveling the causes and cure for various forms of insanity, a psychiatrist in Brazil created the Museum of Images from the Unconscious in 1952. It gathered paintings and drawings made by mental patients from all over Brazil. Many of the works in the museum are paired with the case-histories of the patients who created them in this fascinating film.

This film is based on a long-term study of the dreams of chimney sweepers. The most frequently encountered images have been selected from the abundant material available and the script was created on the basis of those images. Statistics support the claim that this film presents one of the dreams that chimney sweepers encounter most frequently.
