This story revolves around two lovebirds Chand and Shaheen. There appear to be no complications to the lovebirds marriage, however, Chand is asked to gather together a team to play cricket. Chand's naivety is taken advantage of by a group of terrorists, and ultimately Chand becomes involved with terrorists group, and Police Inspector Chauthe (Sadashiv Amrapurkar) claims that he has sufficient evidence to convict Chand. Shaheen believes Chand is innocent, and sets out to prove his innocence.

Yeh Jo Mohabbat Hai is a dramatic love story of two young people who are caught between love for each other and the generations old enmity between their respective Rajput families. When Karan finds out her family background, he starts avoiding Karishma. What happens thereafter is a succession of interesting events that you would get to see in this musical extravaganza from the house of Shakti Samanta which made some memorable romantic films like Aradhana, Kati Patang, Amar Prem, Kashmir Ki Kali and others.

The film was complete in March 1988. Distributors felt there was little chemistry between an older Poonam dhillon and Govinda therefore backed out. In December 1990 a video print of the film was leaked however the film's official release was July 1997.

Widowed by the sudden passing of his wife, Superintendent of Police, Choudhry, brings up his son, Rajesh, on his own, teaches him all known good values, and when he grows up sends him to College in Bombay, and remits money to him regularly. Choudhry would like to transfer to Bombay Police, so that he can be close to his son, and then one day out of the blue, his transfer is approved, and a delighted Choudhry writes to his son to pick him from the railway station. Upon arrival in Bombay, he does not find his son at the Railway Station, but when browsing through a newspaper he sees his son's photograph - wanted for the murder of a card-sharp. Shocked and dismayed, Choudhry attempts to piece his life together and attempts to find Rajesh before the City Police do - for he may well face the death sentence. Choudhry does find him, but only after Rajesh is accused of killing a woman named Kishori, and this time Choudhry is quite sure that there is no hope for Rajesh.

Two brothers, Thakur Vikram Singh (Kulbhushan Kharbanda), and Baseera Singh (Amjad Khan) live in the same village. Baseera is resentful that Vikram has got all he ever wanted, the estate, the wealth, the title, and lovely wife Kaushalya (Tanuja). Baseera unable to control his anger kills one of Vikram's men, and is sentenced to be hanged until death. Baseera leaves the legacy of revenge and hatred with his son, Jageera. Vikram undertakes to look after his nephew as his own, and he already has a son. Additionally, Vikram also adopts a boy as his son. Jageera, now grown up, leases his anger against the family, Vikram's son get's killed, and the adopted son is acused of having sexual relationship with Vikram's daughter-in-law. And the person to pronounce the sentence is non other than fair-minded and generous Thakur Vikram Singh.

Tohfa Mohabbat Ka is a Hindi movie released on 01 July, 1988. The movie is directed by Ram Govind and featured Preeti Ganguli, Govinda and Johnny Lever as lead characters.
