This BAFTA nominated animated short was commissioned by Channel 4's MOMI residency scheme. It tells a darkly comic story about procrastination in which a man becomes entangled in his own domestic web. Repeatedly unsuccessful attempts to leave his flat set off a series of chain reactions ensuring his inevitable descent into chaos! The film is a psychological drama that strikes a universal chord by depicting the character in the grip of this common neurosis.

Changes of spatial relationships, scales, locations, and materials are intimated with recognisable clues which nevertheless do not always eliminate the former understanding of the images. These and other levels of ambiguity are instilled, which shake the photographic image’s authority as a principle of reality by confronting it with its illusory nature. We are back with magic, made possible with black and white film, shadows and lights, the limitations of the screen and the depth of field. So as when film grains, dots in deep space, disintegrate the solidity and enclosureness of a wall, the intentions of the film and the transforming events accumulate at a very intimate level of the viewer, that is at the level of the mechanism of his understanding.

The film is about travelling on horseback across the Icelandic interior on the main route, which once connected the north of Iceland with the shout. This route was the scene of a tragic accident in the 18th century, when young farmers moving a flock of sheep to the North, perished in a snowstorm. For many years following the incident the track was not used, until the 19th century, when Captain Daniel Bruun from Denmark, accompanied by a photographer and a water-colour artist, crossed the difficult terrain, deep rivers, and rocky heights in sun, rain, fog and wind, marking the way with stones laboriously heaped into cairns.

Benjamin Kling is an audio describer. He translates movies for blind and visually impaired viewers. After more than a hundred audio described films and series and while working on Alfred Hitchcock's Suspicion, he feels the need to question his practice: is he too objective? Does he do justice to the films in all their diversity, in all their art, in the craft of the director? To answer these questions, he decides to meet blind and visually impaired people from different backgrounds. He wants to learn more about their singular way of "watching" films (they insist on saying “watching a movie”) and their expectations about audio description.
