With Vu de l'extérieur Lucile Desamory reflects on the possibilities of a distant view from inside one’s own culture. The inside is Belgium and its cultural codes. Consisting of a white box with a hidden entrance in the screen, only visible in some moments while the video is running, the installation creates a situation where inside and outside are obscured. The projection shows parts of the feature film Télé Réalité directed by Desamory, Glodie Mubikay, and Gustave Fundi: Three Congolese women are discussing a reality TV show they plan to produce in Belgium during carnival. When visitors enter the video screen, they find themselves in a secret chamber with a surveillance monitor. On it, strange characters evolve in the house where the brotherhood of the Blancs Moussis of Stavelot make and store tons and tons of confetti.

A wonderful documentary that sheds additional light on the fascinating project ‘Inferno’ was, as well as how those who were involved with it reacted to it during the shooting process. A riveting adjunct to the main feature, offering a glut of interviews with various people associated with the production, and presenting quite a bit more production data, as well as some unseen footage from Clouzot's shoot.

This is a poetic and animated meditation inspired by two trips the director made to Japan. Images and sounds from daily life as well as recordings of his performances, most notably one with the dancer-choreographer Teita Iwabushi. There is no story as such, but a formal construction with sound and images. What can be seen in Japan when Mount Fuji is invisible, lost in the clouds?

One day, Jean-Christian Riff notices two boys playing a mysterious game under his window. He films them. This is the starting point for a film that, without the camera ever leaving its unique position behind the window, progressively opens up the circle of perceptions and emotions to the dimensions of the world. The space makes this cosmological miracle possible : a bus stop, a riverbank and the river that runs along it, but also the filmmaker’s appartment, where daily life and its sounds resonate : a multiple scene upon which pass time, seasons, beings of all ages and conditions.
