Mad Mad Mad Mad Filmy World was developed in collaboration with a large cast of staff and patrons of the Capri Cinema in Saddar, central Karachi, Pakistan. Shot entirely on location in the cinema, using the entrance halls, projection booth, and cinema hall, the film is as much about Capri Cinema and its converging communities of patrons and staff, as it is about the city of Karachi where this single-screen theatre has stood tall since 1968.

Abang Long Fadil is a 2014 Malaysian action comedy film written and directed by Syafiq Yusof. It features an ensemble cast including Zizan Razak, Kamal Adli, Tauke Jambu, Soffi Jikan, Aaron Aziz, Yassin Yahya and the late Harun Salim Bachik. The film is the spin-off from 2011 film KL Gangster directed by Syafiq's older brother Syamsul Yusof and the first in Abang Long Fadil trilogy. The movie was released on May 29, 2014 and received positive reviews. Its sequel Abang Long Fadil 2 was released on August 24, 2017.

The character of Werner is based on Brösel's and his brother Andi's experiences. Werner's life is that of an unemployed biker that consists of consuming large amounts of beer and souping up his motorcycle, a chopped 1950s Horex Regina. Both regularly gets him in trouble with the police and the German vehicle safety agency TÜV who due to their expressed incompetency and imbecility are usually ignored and duped by Werner. In the movies, Werner is voiced by Northern German band Torfrock's singer Klaus Büchner (whereas Torfrock also wrote part of the original soundtrack of the first movie, and partly did for the sequels as well).
