Bumblebee, the latest addition to the Transformers franchise, is a refreshing change from the Michael Bay-directed movies that have come before it. Set in 1987, the movie follows B-127, also known as Bumblebee, as he is sent to Earth to set up a refuge base and protect the planet from Decepticon attack. After being severely damaged in battle, Bumblebee takes the form of a yellow Volkswagen Beetle and goes into stasis. When he is discovered by Charlie, a teenager struggling with the loss of her father, the two form a strong bond of friendship. The movie focuses on the characters, their interactions and relationships, and also has well-edited action scenes that aren't overwhelming. The nostalgia of the decade the movie was set in, the heartfelt relationship between Bumblebee and Charlie, and the levity throughout make it a charming and enjoyable watch for audiences of all ages. The CGI for the 'bots is also much improved and has a worn, realistic look to it. While the second half of the movie is more in line with what one would expect from a Transformers movie, it is done much better than in previous films. Overall, Bumblebee is a fun, enjoyable and well-made movie that is sure to please both fans of the original series and newcomers alike.

Bumblebee, la última incorporación a la franquicia de Transformers, es un cambio refrescante de las películas dirigidas por Michael Bay que la precedieron. Ambientada en 1987, la película sigue a B-127, también conocido como Bumblebee, cuando es enviado a la Tierra para establecer una base de refugio y proteger el planeta del ataque de Decepticon. Después de sufrir graves daños en la batalla, Bumblebee toma la forma de un Volkswagen Beetle amarillo y entra en estasis. Cuando es descubierto por Charlie, una adolescente que lucha con la pérdida de su padre, los dos forman un fuerte lazo de amistad. La película se enfoca en los personajes, sus interacciones y relaciones, y también tiene escenas de acción bien editadas que no son abrumadoras. La nostalgia de la década en la que se desarrolla la película, la relación sincera entre Bumblebee y Charlie, y la ligereza en todo momento hacen que sea un reloj encantador y agradable para audiencias de todas las edades. El CGI para los 'bots también ha mejorado mucho y tiene un aspecto desgastado y realista. Si bien la segunda mitad de la película está más en línea con lo que uno esperaría de una película de Transformers, se hace mucho mejor que en películas anteriores. En general, Bumblebee es una película divertida, agradable y bien hecha que seguramente complacerá tanto a los fanáticos de la serie original como a los recién llegados.
