Top Ten Jimmy Stewart Films

One of the greatest actors in Hollywood history, known for his warm and likeable 'everyman' roles but equally brilliant as darker, conflicted anti-heroes, notably for Hitchcock or in a string of memorable 1950s westerns. Everybody has their own favourite James Stewart movie - here are mine. Please share your choices!
- It's a Wonderful Life (1946)
- The Shop Around the Corner (1940)
- Rear Window (1954)
- Mr. Smith Goes to Washington (1939)
- Anatomy of a Murder (1959)
- The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance (1962)
- Destry Rides Again (1939)
- The Mortal Storm (1940)
- The Naked Spur (1953)
- Rope (1948)
Many would certainly include Vertigo - while I concur that he is superb in that one, try as I might I have never been able to completely LOVE the film. I owe it (yet) another chance, I guess, as it has been years since I last watched it.
Others I enjoy very much: Shenandoah, Winchester '73, You Can't Take It With You, Malaya, The Flight of the Phoenix, Wife vs. Secretary
