Debate Charlize Theron

Like in 'Monster' or the Mad Max sequel she did.

Well to be fair, 'Monster' was based off a real life person, one who would never be mistaken as attractive. I think that movie showed how amazing Charlize is as an actor and never once put her beauty in question. And I thought she was still very beautiful in Mad Max (by far the best part of that movie).

I'm a woman, and I think she is the most stunningly beautiful female in movies today.

Disagreed.

They did not have to make her look that bad in Monster.

I was surprised that she could look that "bad" in that film... if you consider it, it's like her own little De Niro move, altering her appearance drastically for a role in a film like he did with Raging Bull.

The good thing for Charlize is she's not just changing her looks; she has chops, too.

DeNiro analogy 100% rejected as he did not look as terrible as Jake LaMotta and men's looks matter far less outright than a lady's. She was too homely in it. I am not impressed with her breaking out of handcuffs as it was only in the script (to your chops comment). Better analogy. A very beautiful actress named Deborah Raffin did a movie called 'Touch by Love' where she played some live-in counselor to a very handicapped child. They gave Raffin a ratty looking and square hairstyle to make her look more like a plain counselor. They should have made Theron look plain and not so darn ugly. It was very wrong of the filmmakers to do that!

Dude, Google "Aileen Wuornos" and tell me that "plain" would've worked for the REAL LIFE person she was portraying. She wasn't just playing some plain character, she was playing a real life serial killer. You don't need to be so shallow and accept the fact that Charlize is a very beautiful actress who has an equal amount of talent and dedication to her craft.

A movie is a movie. It is make-believe. Being loosely based on a few real life incidents changes little to nothing. Steve McQueen's last movie was based on real life events but it was a turkey and BTW they did not bother one bit to make him look like the real life man he was portraying. And for the shallow part of you said what somebody looks like can be important. Don't hide beauty. It is a gift to be beautiful. Besides we would have accepted her as a brute character probably even more if she looked plain. Making her so bad to look at was unappealing. You cannot make someone so repulsive to look at--its a turnoff. Especially when they are so fine to look at! I started this posting if you keep disagreeing you go away.

When I mentioned Steve McQueen not looking like the man he played I meant solely resemblance. When I commented on DeNiro earlier I meant like whether a man is considered ugly or not is unimportant. No contradiction in my statements.

When they made Bruce Lee's life into a film his honestly solidly attractive real life wife, Linda, was made even beautiful in the film. This was almost a mistake. Many knew what she really looked like. But hey half-true story or not its still just a movie.
