Ingmar Bergman made many wonderful films over his long career, some of them widely accepted classics. But which of his great films do you feel does not get enough attention?
For me, Summer with Monika (1953) is one of his very best, and yet it rarely shows up on 'best of Bergman' lists. For much of its length it's sweet and sunny - but, in typical Bergman fashion, the warmth cannot last through to the end of the picture. A superb movie which I highly recommend to anyone who hasn't seen it.
