Jean d'Eaubonne (March 8, 1903 - July 30, 1971) was a French art director. Over the course of his career he worked with some of his country's most distinguished directors, including Jean Cocteau on such productions as "Le Sang d'un Poete" (1930). D'Eaubonne was formally trained to be a painter and a sculptor. He broke into films working as an assistant to production designer Lazare Meerson. He moved to the US in the late-1950s and remained there until his death in 1971. He received an Oscar nomination in 1951 for his work on Max Ophüls's La Ronde. Jean d'Eaubonne est un chef décorateur français, né Jean Gabriel Adrien Piston d'Eaubonne à Talence (Gironde) le 8 mars 1903 et mort à Boulogne-Billancourt (Hauts-de-Seine) le 27 juillet 1971. Jean d'Eaubonne devient chef-décorateur au cinéma en 1930. Sa carrière s'étend sur plus de cent films, jusqu'en 1971, année de sa mort. Il a travaillé notamment avec Jean Cocteau, Max Ophüls, Christian-Jaque, Jacques Becker, Georges Lautner, et, entre 1957 et 1968, avec plusieurs réalisateurs américains, dont Nicholas Ray, Richard Fleischer, Vincente Minnelli, Stanley Donen… Il est parfois crédité sur les génériques comme «J.A. d'Eaubonne», «D'Eaubonne» ou encore «Jean-Pierre d'Eaubonne».
