I don't have any problem with Muslims per se. But Europe has a problem with mass emigration from non-western countries, and tragic events like this are an example of why it is a problem. I think it's fair to say there are very fine people in the Muslim community. I'm not suggesting all Muslims be banned or pay the price of a few. But it's also fair to say that most immigrants are not refugees and that encouraging outsiders to flood over the border is welcoming attacks like these.

If you want to talk about Charlottesville, I do believe that there were innocent people at the rally. By very fine people, Trump was referring to these innocent people who were not racist or causing violence at all, but were nevertheless attacked by hate filled people protesting on both sides. That doesn't mean it's OK to attack racist or hate filled people. I'm just saying that both sides of the rally were violently attacking people. The tragic slaying of the woman was of course the most egregious example.

I do not like nazis and myself I wouldn't go near them with a 10 foot pole. But it is not clear that everyone at the rally was there because they supported the Nazis. I think that is what Trump was referring to. Our president has many times over disavowed white supremacist types and if you listen to his over all message, his message is that we should love each other and come together as Americans. It is a message of love and not hate. I am disgusted by the neo nazis who assembled at the rally and I think Trump is as well.

I don't believe any people on the side of the "protesters with the permit" were "very fine." They specifically invaded Charlottseville to spread hatred. Nobody cared about that stupid statue. If you watched the video I linked to in the other thread and if you trust eye witness accounts, all of those people were white supremacists. They were carrying torches and chanting hate-filled things. And if "very fine people" suddenly realized they were in a crowd of KKK Nazis, then why did they stick around to march with them? Good people wouldn't have participated in their hatred.

I reject Trump's analysis. He has proven himself to be a lying gasbag. There is far too much evidence that shows he has no clue what he is talking about.

And if Nazis decide to come to my hometown, you can bet your ass I will resist them. You can welcome them in your town, how about that?

Again I don't think it's clear that everyone at the rally was sympathetic to neo nazis. Lots of people care about those statues. It doesn't make you a white supremacist/nazi. I don't appreciate the neo nazis being there one bit though and I would not welcome them in my town either.

C'mon now, of course they're all Nazis - all people from the south are... just like all Muslims are terrorists. It's good to know kk has the same kind of logic as Trump and supports a Muslim ban. You need to grow up and realize, like kk does, that anytime a group, such as Muslims, congregate, they are inciting violence. Even if many don't stage attacks themselves, belonging (or being in proximity) to a religion who has some members who do, means they support murder.

They need to be called out and denigrated by all politicians from both parties. I just hope America can come together now and attack them whenever they go to mosque.

So not all clansmen and Nazis chanting anti-Jewish sentiments are bad? If you are one of the good hate-filled Nazis, I apologize.

It turns out Reasonable Kermode & Radio Free Geneva are good Nazis.

Kewl.
