This actor-director was for a time a member of the American Communist Party. He later quit (very good move!!!) and spoke out against them. Things like how they were financed by Stalin's mass-murdering Communist party of the dreaded Soviet Union and so on. I wanted to add something else in however.

I took the greatly acted 'On the Waterfront' on DVD last year. Outside getting an eyeful of the very beautiful Eva Marie Sainte I learned something too. The DVD box came with a booklet and this explained Kazan's activities in the actual CPUSA. However, Kazan talked about the state of world affairs in 1934 (I think that was the year I do not have the booklet any longer). And I remembered thinking to myself that Kazan had the dates of some events wrong. He was recollecting many years after he had joined and I think he had mixed memories of the world events for they did happen in the year he mentioned.
