Samuel George Claflin (born 27 June, 1986) is an English actor. After graduating from the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art in 2009, he began his acting career on television and had his first film role as Philip Swift in Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides (2011).

Claflin gained wider recognition for playing Finnick Odair in The Hunger Games film series (2013–2015) and for his starring role in the romantic comedy Me Before You (2016). He has since portrayed Oswald Mosley in the television series Peaky Blinders (2019–2022) and Mycroft Holmes in the mystery film Enola Holmes (2020). In 2023, Claflin played Billy Dunne in Daisy Jones & The Six. Based on the book of the same name, it follows the story of a rock band in the 1970s, and premiered on Amazon Prime Video on March 3, 2023.

Im Fußballdrama United, das sich mit dem Wiederaufbau der Mannschaft nach dem Flugzeugunglück des Manchester United Teams 1958 befasst, spielt er die Rolle des Duncan Edwards. 2012 spielte er die Rolle eines Prinzen in einer amerikanischen Neuverfilmung des Märchens Schneewittchen, Snow White and the Huntsman, der am 31. Mai 2012 in die deutschen Kinos kam. In dem 2013 erschienenen Science-Fiction-Film Die Tribute von Panem – Catching Fire übernahm Claflin die Rolle des Finnick Odair. Es folgte die Hauptrolle des Bryan McNeil im Horror-Thriller The Quiet Ones sowie die Hauptrolle des Alex Stewart in der romantischen Komödie Love, Rosie – Für immer vielleicht, die auf dem gleichnamigen Roman von Cecelia Ahern basiert. Im Jahr 2016 spielte er im Film Ein ganzes halbes Jahr die männliche Hauptrolle des Will Trainor, neben Emilia Clarke und Charles Dance. Der Film basiert auf dem gleichnamigen Roman von Jojo Moyes.

Urodził się w 1986 roku w Ipswich, Anglia. Uczęszczał do Costessey High School w Norwich. Jako mały chłopiec był wielkim fanem piłki nożnej i przejawiał niemały talent do gry. W wieku 16 lat, po dwukrotnym złamaniu kostki, zmuszony był zrezygnować z pasji. Do aktorstwa zachęcił go nauczyciel z liceum, zobaczywszy jego występ w szkolnym przedstawieniu. W 2003 roku podjął studia sztuki scenicznej w Norwich City College, by niedługo później przenieść się do słynnej London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art. Na małym ekranie debiutował w 2010 roku drugoplanową rolą w "Filarach Ziemi", równocześnie pojawił się również w "Any Human Heart". Już w kwietniu tego samego roku udało mu się dostać angaż w hollywoodziej kontynuacji przebojowej serii "Piraci z Karaibów: Na nieznanych wodach". Zanim megaprodukcja debiutowała w kinach, można było oglądać go w roli piłkarza Duncana Edwardsa w telewizyjnym "United" wyprodukowanym dla BBC. Niedługo później został obsadzony w kolejnym blockbusterze - "Królewnie Śnieżce i Łowcy". W sierpniu 2012 otrzymał angaż do drugiej części cyklu "Igrzyska śmierci"
