I'm a major league fan of the late, great actor Robert Lansing. He was a movie and television actor who had a lot of credits in various TV shows, but he is best known as Brig. General Frank Savage on the series Twelve O'Clock High (first season), and as the time traveling galactic secret agent Gary Seven on the second season Star Trek episode Assignment: Earth. If there are any other Robert Lansing fans out there, give me a post!

I can't recall if we've ever discussed his part in "Kung Fu: The Legend Continues". He was a recurring character and he was great.

In 1961, Mr. Lansing portrayed Detective Steve Carella in the crime series 87th Precinct, which was based on the series of novels by Ed McBain. The show lated for only one season, but was a terrific show that had a great cast, including Ron Harper, Norman Fell, Gregory Wolcott, and Gina Rowland. I just got the DVD set for the series in August, and I'm enjoying it immensely.

I love his mannerisms in "Assignment: Earth". Especially in the scene where he meets Roberta Lincoln. He puts his hand to his face and says; "Miss Lincoln, what kind of work did your employers say they were doing here?".

Right, great talent, Robert Lansing.
Very nice to have intellectual, civil and professional discussions like this on here for a very welcome change of pace.

@Forty-1212 Nice to meet you! And a hello to my great friend Jetfire59! On Christmas day I got the DVD of a low budget sci-fi movie Robert Lansing made called The 4D Man. It's pretty decent. You guys might want to watch it. Someone just uploaded it to YouTube last week.

Hi, Maria! I've seen "4D Man". I recently recalled a film I saw on cable years ago in which RL played the villain. The title is "Scalpel". Here's a link to the IMDB listing.

Thanks for the link. I don't know if I could handle seeing Robert Lansing playing a Villian.

I sympathize. I feel the same way about Kurt Russell.

Yes, I just have him on a pedestal because I love how he played Gary Seven, General Frank Savage, Detective Steve Carella, and Commander Douglas Stansfield (that was the name of his character in the episode of The Twilight Zone that he appeared in. It was called The Long Morrow).
Speaking of heroes, since CBS All Access has a terrific archive of shows that have appeared on CBS in the past, I'm planning to embark on a Classic Hawaii 5-0 marathon. Yep, all 12 seasons, all 273 episodes!
