Definitely a trend-setter, Miss Lipton.

Even though she spent many years away from the limelight, she honed the careers of her daughters to mold careers of their own.

Little has been reported about the lasting relationships between Peggy and her brothers even though Robert has since become a famous actor in his own right and delivers quite a few very professional performances.

Perhaps this is because her biographers may see her as locked into her flower child image even though they know where have all the flowers gone.

Peggy definitely was by far my fave - and easily the most memorable - of the The Mod Squad (love that series title, by the way!) primary cast members. I used to watch that when I was a kid and enjoyed her in it. Miss Lipton was America's "cup of tea" tea back then. (Catch the pun? wink )

I didn't realize, until subsequent to her death, when I read the Wikipedia article about her, that she came from an upper-middle-class professional family.

Well, that "Earl Grey" area about her background somehow transforms Peggy into "Herbal" Julie Barnes, who fits her to a "Tea." (Great pun!)

mega tada Gimme a Tea! champagne confetti_ball

No wonder then about her great Inter- "Twinings" with Michael Cole, Clarence Williams III and Tige Andrews, as many a fan from the "Grand Tea-tons" to "Tea Largo" becomes a "Devotea" with a "Red Rose" rose for Peggy, "America's Darjeeling."

(have been "Pouring" over that once since "Four o'Clock").

But compared with the original cast of "The Mod Squad," its spin-off cast, including Bill Macy, Adrienne Barbeau, Conrad Bain, Rue McClanahan, Florida Evans and Mrs. Naugatuck have to fight "The Maude Slipshod."
