Item: Ryūsuke Hamaguchi
Language: en-US
Type of Problem: Incorrect_content
Extra Details: His name is written as "Ryusuke Hamaguchi" (without the macron) in almost all official uses I've seen, including the Japanese website for 'Happy Hour' at http://hh.fictive.jp/ja/ the festival poster for 'Wife of a Spy' at https://intl.nikkatsu.com/sales/user_images/NK06_wifeofaspy.jpg the French poster for 'Happy Hour' at https://www.themoviedb.org/t/p/original/hPN6AVQTErH1njyrcMYZyeTAMNb.jpg the French poster for 'Passion' at https://www.themoviedb.org/t/p/original/5cj7YOVdmXt1HE8vREAGiSH17dY.jpg the French poster for 'Asako I & II' at https://www.themoviedb.org/t/p/original/e5I89OB22L7kRJWEdJpW5yhVEfN.jpg the sales agent's page for 'Asako I & II' at https://mk2films.com/en/film/asako-i-ii/ the press notes for 'Asako I & II' at https://mk2films.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/4/2018/02/asako-iii-pressnotes.pdf and on the official database JFDB at https://jfdb.jp/en/person/8360
The only official use with a macron I've seen is the US poster for 'Asako I & II', at https://www.themoviedb.org/t/p/original/3j9wXz4jWOT8Ac0Vse6qxr1zEvF.jpg – I would not give this as much weight as the spellings used by sales agents and on Japanese-run sites, as they have more direct contact with the person themselves, whereas US distributors only have contact with them via sales agents. The "Ryusuke Hamaguchi" spelling was also used by New York's Japan Society for their recent online retrospective: https://film.japansociety.org/page/three-by-ryusuke-hamaguchi/
