Discuss Matt Lauer

I felt that NBC today had moved on from his era (90s/2000s) and he was like a relic from those more serious and structured days of morning tv. Now it's a 'round table' and they talk about 'what's trending' and other fluff. Al fit into the new style because he's a very fluid personality, but Matt? Not quite sure. I remember noting to my brother how everyone seemed more relaxed when he was absent.

I think he did a great job when he was in his era. But the times have changed. I wonder if this sexual assault claim was just the excuse they were looking for to jettison him?

Yeah, it seemed awfully quick. It sounds like he had a rather serious flaw. But the thing is, so many people are flawed but they are given 1000 chances. Just about every alcoholic I know gets multiple "chances." Why? They are dangerous in a could get you killed sort of way. Alcoholics are in managerial and supervisory positions where their clouded judgement can ruin lives. They drive on our roads. Yet it is labeled an "illness" and they are babied. Strange world we live in. I guess companies need to sell booze.
