Biography

Along with speaking roles in The Prince (2014) and Making Love (2014) Jim Bennett was a featured extra in Selma (reporter)(2014) and the movie 42 (newspaper photographer)(2013) and appeared in several other motion pictures including Big Fish (2003), Heaven's Fall(2006), The Grass Harp (1995) and Stay Hungry (1976).

He was a member of the Theater Department as a student at Jacksonville State University from which he holds a BS degree (1962) and a MA from the University of Alabama (1980).

A one-time political reporter for the Birmingham Post-Herald, he has served four terms as Alabama secretary of state, two terms as commissioner of the State Department of Labor, two terms in the Alabama House of Representatives and three terms as a member of the Alabama State Senate.
