Biography

Producer. Director. Writer.

Mark founded his first production company at the age of sixteen, focusing on short and industrial films. He moved to Vancouver in the early 90’s and attended the Vancouver Film School where he directed his student short film, Within the Heart.

Upon graduation, Mark worked as a first assistant director on several features and TV pilots. In 1994 he wrote, produced and directed his first feature film, Curiously Dead.

The following year he followed up with the semi-biography bartending comedy,Barnone. This black and white comedy went on to sell out at various film festivals, and placed runner-up as the Most Popular Canadian Film at the Vancouver International Film Festival. Barnone received North American distribution on video and has attained a cult status. Watch the Barnone demo reel.

In the last four years Mark has directed the feature films Lunch (the second one shot feature in motion picture history), Symphony of Grace, and the TV pilot A Woman’s Tale.

Mark has twenty-five feature screenplays to his credit, eight of which have been either optioned or produced. Dimension/New Line Studios are currently considering Mark’s spec script for Halloween 10. He was a film and screenplay instructor at such schools as V.P.A.C., Gastown Actors’ Studio, and C.D.I.S. Arts School.

Mark Tuit co-founded Pacific Gold Entertainment in 2005, a production company dedicated to film, graphic novels, music and video game production. Subhuman was the first film produced by the new studio. The film is currently enjoying the success of being distributed in over 29 countries. In the US alone, Subhuman sold over 30,000 units in national DVD stores.

Most recently, Mark has just recently completed producing and directing duties on the 3-D animated feature, Bunny Tales, and the feature film Blood: A Butcher’s Tale.

Mark is now developing the 3-D animated feature The Down Dwellers, which he plans to produce in stereoscopic 3-D.
