Robert Joseph "Bobby" Connelly (Born: April 4, 1909; Died: July 5, 1922; at age 13).
Bobby Connelly was a child actor of the silent film era.
He was known for his role as Bobby in the short films "When Bobby Broke His Arm (1917)", "Bobby, Movie Director (1917)", "Bobby, Boy Scout (1917)", "Bobby and the Home Defense (1917)", "Bobby's Bravery (1917)", "Bobby to the Rescue (1917)", "Bobby's Country Adventure (1917)", "Bobby Takes a Wife (1917)", "Bobby the Magician (1917)" and "Just What Bobby Wanted (1917)".
Before that, he played Sonny Jim in the short films "Sonny Jim in Search of a Mother (1914)", "'Fraid Cat (1914)", "An Easter Lily (1914)", "Sonny Jim at the North Pole (1914)", "The 'Bear' Facts (1914)", "The Circus and the Boy (1914)", "The Little Captain (1914)", "The Heart of Sonny Jim (1914)", "The Cave Dwellers (1914)", "A Cause for Thanksgiving (1914)", "The Knight Before Christmas (1914)", "Chiefly Concerning Males (1915)", "Sonny Jim and the Valentine (1915)", "When a Feller's Nose Is Out of Joint (1915)", "Sonny Jim at the Mardi Gras (1915)", "The White and Black Snowball (1915)", "Sonny Jim and the Amusement Company, Ltd. Bobby's another early child actor who I'm not familiar with, as he's from a run of years that's earlier than I've watched many movies from (I mainly have long gravitated to silents of circa 1922 onward, though have seen a smattering of earlier films). He certainly had a decidedly prolific screen acting career for such a young person!
Sad that had he been of our current times he'd have very possibly survived to adulthood. I see that little Bobby died due to endocarditis that ultimately resulted in the bronchitis that killed him.
