As well as a great, commanding actor Lee was a WW2 flight lieutenant, an author and recorded heavy metal albums!
My personal favourite performance of his is as Lord Summerisle in The Wicker Man, and he was of course an iconic Dracula.
He was the only member of the Lord of the Rings cast and crew to have personally known Tolkien.

He was great in pretty much everything, even the terrible movies he was in like Howling 2.
Another stand out performance was in Gormenghast.

Here's the lovely moment when Christopher Lee received the BAFTA fellowship in 2011. Well deserved, an iconic actor and a lovely man. And so prolific!
