Christopher Allen Lloyd (born October 22, 1938) is an American actor. He has appeared in many theater productions, films, and on television since the 1960s. He is known for portraying Dr. Emmett "Doc" Brown in the Back to the Future trilogy (1985–1990) and Jim Ignatowski in the comedy series Taxi (1978–1983), for which he won two Emmy Awards.

Lloyd came to public attention in Northeastern theater productions during the 1960s and early 1970s, earning Drama Desk and Obie awards for his work. He made his cinematic debut in One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest (1975) and went on to star as Commander Kruge in Star Trek III: The Search for Spock (1984), Professor Plum in Clue (1985), Judge Doom in Who Framed Roger Rabbit (1988), Uncle Fester in The Addams Family (1991) and its sequel Addams Family Values (1993), Switchblade Sam in Dennis the Menace (1993), Mr. Goodman in Piranha 3D (2010), Bill Crowley in I Am Not a Serial Killer (2016) and David Mansell in Nobody (2021).

He earned a third Emmy for his 1992 guest appearance as Alistair Dimple in Road to Avonlea (1992), and won an Independent Spirit Award for his performance in Twenty Bucks (1993). He has done extensive voice work, including Merlock in DuckTales the Movie: Treasure of the Lost Lamp (1990), Grigori Rasputin in Anastasia (1997), the Hacker in the PBS Kids series Cyberchase (2002–present), which earned him Daytime Emmy nominations, and the Woodsman in the Cartoon Network miniseries Over the Garden Wall (2014).

Christopher Lloyd est un acteur américain, né le 22 octobre 1938 à Stamford (Connecticut).

Né et élevé dans le Connecticut, Christopher Lloyd part pour New York à l'âge de 19 ans où il suit des cours d'Arts dramatiques notamment à la très prestigieuse Neighbourhood Playhouse School of Theatre de Stanford Meisner. Il joue alors plusieurs années à Broadway avant de décrocher à 37 ans son premier rôle au cinéma, celui d'un fou dans le cinq fois oscarisé Vol au-dessus d'un nid de coucou.

Il est découvert par le grand public américain trois ans plus tard avec un rôle de drogué devenu récurrent dans le sitcom Taxi. Sa grande taille et son air "bizarre" le rendant immédiatement reconnaissable, il interprète de nombreux rôles de méchants voir Le Justicier solitaire) ou d'excentriques comme dans En route vers le Sud, Tueur de flics) au début des années 80.

C'est toutefois son interprétation de professeur déjanté dans Retour vers le futur et ses deux suites qui le révèle dans le monde. Malgré cet énorme succès, il apparaît surtout à la fin des années 80 dans des seconds rôles. Mais, en 1993, La Famille Addams et sa suite vont lui offrir un deuxième rôle très marquant, celui du très morbide Fester Addams.

Au cours des années 90, il tourne principalement dans des longs métrages destinés aux enfants tels que P'tits Genies ou Richard au pays des livres magiques et prête à de nombreuses reprises sa voix pour des dessins animés tels que Anastasia et Hé Arnold ! le film.

1975 óta szerepel filmekben. Első nagy alakítása a Száll a kakukk fészkére Taber karaktere volt. Ezt megelőzően szerepelt már az Airport című filmben is, 1970-ben. 1978-1983 között a Taxi című sorozatban is szerepelt. 1984-ben ő is fontos szerepet kapott a Star Trek III: Spock nyomában című filmben. 1985-ben a Vissza a jövőbe bogaras feltalálóját játszotta. 1988-ban a Roger nyúl a pácban című filmben is feltűnt. 1991-ben az Addams Family – A galád családban Fester bácsit alakította. 1999-ben a Kerge város című filmben is látható volt.
