Regista e scrittore sudafricano, nato a Città del Capo nel 1983. Dopo essersi laureato in cinema, media e studi visivi, ha lavorato come fotografo per un'agenzia di stampa. Ha poi completato gli studi alla London Film School, realizzando il suo primo film, Shirley Adams (2009). In seguito ha diretto Beauty (vincitore del Queer Palm Award al Festival di Cannes 2011), The Endless River (primo film sudafricano in concorso alla Mostra del Cinema di Venezia 2015), Moffie (2019) e Living (2022) con Bill Nighy. |
