Everyone has their favorite, which is MOSTLY Sean Connery, Daniel Craig etc...although Roger didn't bring the ultra sexiness or "macho man" to the role, he WAS my James Bond growing up in the 80s. He also seemed to have an epic sense of humor, his role in Boat Trip for instance is HILARIOUS (Complete with Bond in-joke). He'll be sorely missed. :(

Oh, Moore was my Bond when I went to the movies to watch the character in the eighties, too. It's just that I found out about Connery not long after that, and found him eminently cooler than Moore.

Roger Moore is the greatest Bond.
Nobody does it better.
Makes me feel sad for the rest.

I just rewatched For Your Eyes Only for the first time since the 80s. Count me in to the He Was My Bond Club.
I admit Connery was more of the archetype for a cool & ruthless spy, but Roger Moore was the most 'human' Bond, expressive, humorous, an overall fun guy, and for kids growing up in the 80s that's what we wanted to see.
I've always thought the Bond films were best approached sort of like dark comedies, and Roger Moore really nailed that tone perfectly. Especially when he crosses paths with the late great Richard Kiel (Jaws!)
