Hi no Sakana is a Japanese novel by Murō Saisei; it was first published in 1960, and was later adapted into a single episode TV drama that was broadcast on NHK Hiroshima in 2009. The story describes the interactions between an elderly author and a young staffer from a publishing company as they collaborate on a book cover design for the author's latest novel.

Saisei based the interactions on her own experience when she was writing Mitsu no Ahare, and was working with book designer Kumiko Tochiori in 1959. The novel is written as a collection of letters between the two.

Bōshi was a Japanese television special about an elderly man who runs an old haberdashery in Kure. The drama was produced by NHK Hiroshima in 2008 for their 80th anniversary and received the valuable TV drama award at the 63rd Japan Agency for Cultural Affairs Art Festival.

NHK Nodo Jiman is one of the longest running TV programs broadcast on Japanese NHK TV and NHK radio.

Baby Felix is a children's animated television program that follows the adventures of a young Felix the Cat and infant versions of the characters from Joe Oriolo's Felix television program from the 1950s. It was launched by Oriolo's son, Don Oriolo in 2000 with NHK Educational, NEC Interchannel and AEON inc. of Japan. The show consists of 26 half-hour episodes. It follows in the long line of "Baby Cartoon Revivals" alongside such shows as Muppet Babies, Baby Looney Tunes, and The Flintstone Kids. All 26 episodes were released in Bulgaria on 9 DVDs by A-Design. In 2010, DVDs have been released in Hungary as well.

Taiga drama is the name NHK gives to the annual, year-long historical fiction television series it broadcasts in Japan. Beginning in 1963 with the black-and-white Hana no Shōgai, starring kabuki actor Onoe Shōroku and Takarazuka star Awashima Chikage, the network has hired a producer, director, writer, music director, and actors for the series. The 45-minute show airs on the NHK General network every Sunday at 20:00, with rebroadcasts on Saturdays at 13:05. Satellite, HDTV digital satellite, and NHK World Premium broadcasts are also available.

News Watch 9, stylized as news Watch 9 is the flagship evening news program of the public Japanese broadcaster, NHK. It airs weekdays on NHK General Television and worldwide on NHK World Premium and is also available on the networks video-on-demand service. Currently, it is presented by NHK Political correspondent Okoshi Kensuke and Inoue Asahi. The program has been broadcast by the network since 1961, although it has been using its current title only from 2006.

It is broadcast on weekdays, from 9:00 pm to 10:00 pm, and features national and international news, commentary, sports and weather. Unlike most newscasts, NW9 prohibits the use of full scripts and limits the use of teleprompters.

Deko Boko Friends is a collection of 30-second Japanese shorts created by a pair of advertising creators, Momoko Maruyama and Ryotaro Kuwamoto to promote acceptance of people of different personalities and appearances. The shorts are focused on 12 different creatures, meant to show certain personalities, likes, dislikes, and quirks.

Deko Boko Friends originated on NHK's oldest running children's programming show, Okaasan to Issho in 2003, superseding previous short cartoon series, Yancharu Moncha.

Deko Boko Friends is distributed in English by Viz Media and was shown in English on Nickelodeon's children's programming block, Nick Jr. and Noggin in the United States. Deko Boko Friends was also shown on Treehouse TV in Canada.

The show ended on March 18, 2011.
