How come they all didn't die when

They were falling down while holding onto the antenna array? I mean seriously? They're falling as they're engrossed in their conversation and didn't notice that they hit the ground? I mean there's no plausible explanation that A) They survived a fall like that and B) They didn't even notice that they landed. How could they write that in the script and ask the audience to believe that?

I think it's pretty reasonable to say that the way the tower was falling (a bumpy fall, building after building) they could have survived it.
Also it was partly played for humor, we think the Turtles are going to die but in fact they made it.
