I read Weber wrote a sequel. Does anyone know anything about it? I wondered if it dealt with the possibility the Phantom and Christine might have continued meeting periodically. He did seem to be keeping track of her with the rose on her grave.

Apparently the it was performed in Sydney and Melbourne in 2012. I don't recall seeing any advertising for it at all.
OMG I just read the synopsis in wicki... the ending

SPOILER ALERT:
I would love to see it made into a movie with the original movie cast, The ending of that movie was so tearful, the rewrite would be a happy ending of soughts with The Phantom and Christine... At least we know they did get together at some stage and that she did love him...

It didn't do well in West End like the songs are okay - like very POTO inspired, not as great but still somehow decent. I bought the DVD (well it was a freebie when I bought the POTO 25th Anniversary DVD) and wish they filmed same cast in Anniversary. It has a nice creepy freaky circus vibe and Christine's songs are more operatic sounding. The song that I liked and listen to sometimes is 'Til I Hear You Sing' - just beautifully sung by Ramin. And that one song with POTO theme vibe with the music that has a scream in the end - forgot title. Googled - Beauty Underneath, like phantom rock sounding.
For me, the story...yeah I was glad to see them together but okay SPOILERS!

I just find it hard to believe that her BFF Meg will become a jealous psycho bitch and shoots Christine! And Raoul a drunkard lol -well this maybe possible. Just too soap opera-ish fan fiction with Phantom being the father, I can enjoy it sure - it is still Phantom, but see it as a TOTALLY separate thing from POTO.
