The Rock is a (brilliant!) James Bond movie

The argument is compelling - not only do I buy it, but it prompted me to up my rating, this insight makes this movie rather brilliant, a sort of "what if we filled in those blanks this way?" that was subtly yet deftly executed.

I'd up my rating too, but alas it's not possible. There's no numbers left to up it to.
The only issue with the theory is that I can't quite imagine Bond rocking out to Led Zeppelin.
Still, a Rock prequel tying in with the Bond world would be an awesome idea for a movie.

I can - he's retired, seeking love and to fit in, be normal. Led Zep IS a British band that is climbing in popularity, it'd be the ideal opportunity to experience new (for him), common (to regular people) things.
I think that'd make a little more sense than seeing some American band at that time.
At any rate, your rating conundrum is real!
