Friday the 13th: The Final Chapter 토론

The first film was my favorite but the Final Chapter came close to matching it. I enjoyed all the film up to Part VII. At that point the various film makers were just using gimmicks to milk the franchise dry.

Favorite sequels are 2 & 6 but 4 is not far behind. I did enjoy how nasty & violent Jason got in this one, the hacksaw kill was particularly brutal. Tom Savini did some fantastic work here with Jason's "death" being a highlight.

Part IV was absolutely the best of the sequels. The gore and Crispin Glover dancing sealed the deal.

By far my favorite. The cast was great and the only one with likeable characters that i didn't want to see die.

This and 6 are my favorite sequels, and heck, I may like them both better than the original. Original is still good and all, but I prefer Jason to his mother myself.

Best of the lot!

Whichever one had the girl in the woods getting killed after bonking her boyfriend... She had massive jugs and looked a biiiiit like Linda Blair... Anyway, that one. Because of her.

Because of her jugs.

Sounds like part 5 to me. One of the lesser sequels, actually, but she did look good!

Sounds like that would be Debi Sue Voorhees from Friday The 13th Part V. I always liked that film. Lot's of black comedy and of course, Debi Sue!

@mav100000 @EddieBond 666 Cheers lads :)

I got to watch this all the way through a couple of weeks ago and The Final Chapter will always remain as my favorite Friday the 13th movie ever. I did enjoy most of the sequels, but I had such a vested interest in this one as I grew up not being old enough to see the original, then 2 on cable, 3 with my older sister (and her now-husband) and finally being “adult” enough to scout out # 4 with some buddies on a chilly April afternoon in 1985. It was sold out in one theater and we just made it to the wonderful opening credits (“Jason’s out there…”) which set the tone perfectly. From the opening kills (showing he had no time or patience for a dorky morgue attending watching Eroticize or some nurse, he’s heading home to reclaim the woods he lives in. Ted White was imposing as all hell, filling the frame with menace and gore. Loved the cast, the makeup, the clothes, music, whatever. I personally thought this was going to be it as the end of the series and we got our money’s worth. Fun stuff from an old(er) guy looking back.

That sounds a lot better than my first Friday the 13th theatrical experience which was Jason Goes To Hell in an almost empty theater. On top of that it was of course the heavily edited R rated cut.

It was! Funny you should mention the "other" Final Friday, because a friend saw it and had a similar experience. He ended up weak summary by saying "Stuff happens, then Freddy's glove appears. The End."

I've been lucky to see a good share of classic horror movies, but this one was my personal favorite. I remember seeing 5 with my girlfriend (now wife of close to 28 years) and being kind of embarrassed with the heavy nudity. 6 was at a drive in (fun, but the series was getting goofy), 7 (same). The crowd were getting angry at 8 - many felt ripped off (and they were right). F v J was cool because we took the day off of work to see it. Remake in '09 was also a milestone because we took our kids. To everything turn, turn, turn...

I'm jealous that you got to see all those in theaters! But it's not so bad. I have nostalgic memories of seeing the VHS video boxes in our local mom and pop video store I would always run straight to the horror section just to look at them and fantasise what these movies were like.

I did see Friday the 13th Part 3 in the theater a few years back. It was a sold out crowd and everyone was really into it . Good times!

Part 3 was a close second, good house, the 3D (and glasses) made it all the better. I even bought one of those lobby posters on the way out (wish I still had it!). I have a picture of me and the guy I went with, all those years later, from last summer. I'm glad you got to see it in it's original format as the 2d (while goofy) isn't as cool. One quick story I like to tell is me dragging the same guy (my future Brother in Law) to My Bloody Valentine in 1981. Flash forward to 2009 and I took my kids to see the remake - in the exact same theater.

Good call on video stores! Scoring a good one out of the piles of boxes always made my day.
